World Cup 2022 Group E odds

With Qatar hosting the World Cup this year, they would be the first Arab nation to host a FIFA championship. It also happens to be only the second time in the history of the World Cup that an Asian country is hosting it. This is after South Korea and Japan hosted the World Cup in 2002.

FIFA is the International Federation of Association Football. Belgium, France, Germany, and Spain, among other European countries, came together in 1904 to compete in the first World Cup. The association itself was headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Today, FIFA has become an integral part of 211 nations worldwide. Originally, the international federation brought countries together in sportsmanship. However, over the years FIFA has evolved into an institution that stands for philanthropic causes too. In addition to encouraging fair play, as well as integrity and sportsmanship, it aims to provide opportunities in football to everyone who wants one.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 will have 32 finalist teams. These teams are divided into 8 groups with 4 teams. Each team will get a chance to play with other teams to enter the knockout stage. At the knockout, winners and runner-up teams of each group compete against the winners and runner-ups of other groups. The winning teams then move to the next round, called Round 16. The culmination of this results in the Quarter Finals. The Semi-Final and the Final match follow with the excitement peaking. There is also a third-place match to determine which team comes in at the number 3 position of the World Cup every season.

What do we know about Groups E and the group stage draw?

A total of 48 teams will compete in the World Cup 2026. The federation has confirmed this. However, there are 8 groups this year, with 32 teams in total. The panel selects four teams to play in each group, from Group A to H. We only know the first team of Group A at the moment. This is usually the host team and this year it is Qatar.

Based on the FIFA ranking, the federation splits the 32 teams into four pots. However, in the past, the continental confederation has decided the split after the top 4 ranking teams. A random draw decides the first team in each group. Then this team picks other teams to play in their group. However, they cannot compete with another team of the same confederation in the same group. With this being a tradition, any further information available to us at the moment is minimal. We will keep this space updated, so stay tuned for updates.

All we know at the moment is that Qatar will open the tournament on November 21st, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Al Byat stadium will host the first match at Al Khor. December 2nd, 2022 will see the last of the group matches. The knockout rounds will start immediately after this. Although Group E will play its matches from November 23rd to December 1st, we do not know which teams will be a part of this group. As of now, the stadiums allotted for these matches are yet to be decided.

Expectations set by FIFA history

The FIFA World Cup is one of the most-watched sports tournaments in the world. It garners support from even the smallest corners of the planet. Football is no longer simply a game, it is a religion. FIFA reflects the spirit of this religion.

France won the FIFA 2018 World Cup against Croatia. In this match, Luka Modric was handed Player of the Tournament and Harry Kane scored the most goals. In 2014, Germany won the cup against Argentina. Also, Lionel Messi received Player of the Tournament and James Rodriguez scored the most goals in the season.

Although Brazil's latest victory was in 2002, the nation prides itself on having the most number of FIFA championships. Rightfully considered one of the most successful teams in the history of FIFA, they have won the FIFA World Cup five times from 1958 to 2002. Germany and Italy have made a great name for themselves in the tournament too, and have won the world cup a total of four times each. Argentina, France, and Uruguay have won the world cup twice each. Finally, England and Spain have won the cup once each.

To sum it up, just as the world of football promises great excitement, we promise to keep you consistently updated throughout the tournament and the ceremonies that precede it.
