Tombstone RIP

Tombstone R.I.P is a dark and brooding slot set in the Wild West. It invites players into a mean and unforgiving world right out of old-school Westerns. This is not like the fun-loving, jovial old west seen in animations and comedies.  If the name of the game doesn’t give you that impression then the beautifully dark aesthetic will.

What is the Tombstone R.I.P Slot?

Your introduction to Tombstone R.I.P comes in the form of a question followed by the warning that you need to “Choose the correct answer to enter the game”. One of the questions asks you. “What is your relationship with Tombstone’s Pigs?” and gives you the following options:
  • First Cousin
  • They Eat Me
  • I Eat Them
If you get the question wrong, the screen will flash red and you’ll be asked another.  Only the toughest players make it inside. Once the game begins, you’ll be introduced to a set of reels that look like a wooden notice board complete with wanted posters and chains. From here, you’re just a spin away from immersing yourself in the town of Tombstone and unlocking all of the following features:
  • Special Reel
  • Enhanced Bet
  • xNudge Wilds
  • Splitting Wilds
  • Multiple Scatters
  • Bonus Spins
Tombstone R.I.P has a maximum payout of 300,000x, which the game refers to as “El Gordo’s Revenge”. When this figure is reached, the triggering feature/spin ends, and the money is released.

Tombstone R.I.P Features

Tombstone R.I.P has 5 reels and 108 paylines in a 2-3-3-3-1 layout. Although it only has one symbol, the final reel is the most important as it has some special properties. This includes the complete absence of all low-paying symbols, as well as the fact that all symbol wins count as double. Here are some other features to look out for on the Tombstone R.I.P slot:

Enhanced Bet

Click the Wooden Level at the bottom of the reels to unlock Enhanced Bet mode. The lever will switch from “off” to “on” and a reel will be highlighted. The switch increases your stake by 10% and reduces your chances of winning. At the same time, however, it increases the likelihood of triggering the Bonus Spins feature with guaranteed Scatter symbols.

xNudge Wilds

The xNudge Wild is a Wild Reel that takes the form of a hanging outlaw. It’s morbid, but that’s Tombstone for you. The Wild “nudges” into view after appearing partially. There are three of them in total and they can cover all of the three middle reels. Every time the xNudge appears, the Multiplier grows by one. These Multipliers can then be added together, increasing the total payout.

Wilds and Splitting Wilds

The game’s regular Wild can appear on all but the first reel, substituting for other symbols but triggering no wins on its own. There is also a Reel Split Wild, which lands on the middle three reels and then splits itself and the other symbols on those reels.

xRIP

xRIP is triggered when there is a payout that is less than the value of the wager. When activated, there will be no payout.

Hang ‘EM High Spins

8 Hang ‘EM High Bonus Spins are triggered when three Hand Scatter symbols appear. During these spins, there is an increasing Win Multiplier that grows by 1x with a Regular Wild, 2x with a Reel Split Wild, and between 1x and 3x with an xNudge Wild.

Boothill Spins

This Bonus Spin feature is also triggered by three of the Hang ‘EM High Scatters, but you’ll also need an additional Boothill Scatter. It’s essentially an upgraded feature, and it offers a total of 10 Bonus Spins. As with the Hang ‘EM High Bonus, the Win Multiplier increases when Wild symbols appear. What’s more, when the Cowboy symbol lands on the last reel, all symbols of the same type will turn Wild. A Cowboy symbol is also assigned a random value of between 5x and 999x your stake during this feature. It happens with every Bonus Spin and if that symbol lands on a winning payline, its value will be added to the total payout.

Summary of Tombstone R.I.P Slot

The bottom of the Tombstone R.I.P reels read “Brutality – Then You Die”. It’s a great touch, and it completes what is a very well-designed game. It’s one of the best western-themed slots you’ll find, a masterpiece from the creative minds at Nolimit City.
